How far apart should rows of plastic folding chairs be?

We always like questions on how to use our products. They’re a great way to find out more about how our products should be used in their intended. Over the past two weeks we have shared the answer to the reader questions “how far apart should rows of chiavari chairs be?” and “how far apart should rows of white resin folding chairs be?” We've also had a reader ask “how far apart should rows of plastic folding chairs be?” and I thought it worth sharing the answer. From a guest’s point of view, having chair rows too close together can be uncomfortable. I know I have attended many hockey and baseball games where the stadiums cram rows of seating in and going to get a drink or to the restroom is an awkward experience to say the least. On the flip side of this, if chairs are spaced too far apart, guests won’t be able to adequately interact with one another and the room feels like there is wasted space.

The rule of thumb for how far apart rows of plastic folding chairs: 33.25 inches from chair back to chair back.

Our Plastic Folding Chairs are 15.25 inches deep. We need to leave an additional 18 inches between the back of the chair row in front to the plastic folding chair front of the row behind.

How Far Apart Should Rows of Plastic Folding Chairs Be

The rule of thumb for how far apart each plastic folding chair should be in a row: each plastic folding chair in a row should be spaced 2 inches apart so guests don’t feel crowded or uncomfortable.

How to put on a chiavari chair cushion cover after washing

Party Rental Companies and Banquet Halls often buy more than one colour of fabric chiavari chair cushion so that their customers have different options for their events. What is so great about chiavari chair cushions is the ability for companies to take them off the foam cushion and clean the exterior cover. We’ve heard from some customers that while taking off the cover can be easy, putting the cover back on the cushion is a whole other story. Here’s how to put on a chiavari chair cushion cover after washing/cleaning it.

1. Take foam cushion out of the fabric chiavari cushion cover

2. Put fabric chiavari chair cushion covers in the washing machine

3. Wrap foam cushion in plastic wrap

4. Put Chiavari Chair Cushion cover in the dryer

5. Insert foam cushion into dry chiavari chair cushion cover

Where the plastic wrap really shines is after the cushion is in the cover. It is much, much easier to adjust the cover so that the seams and sides line up where they’re supposed to than on a plain foam cushion. The foam grabs the fabric too much without the aid of the plastic wrap.

Problems with Clear Chiavari Chairs

Clear Chiavari chairs are a fantastic décor item as they naturally match any colour scheme required at a venue or wedding. Similar to white resin Chiavari chairs, they’re a versatile chair to have in your rental inventory due to their chameleon tendencies. We like to ensure our customers know exactly what they’re looking to purchase and because of this, often write blog posts on the problems other companies may face with products. It helps level-set expectations and allows for no surprises. Read on for the problems commonly faced with clear Chiavari chairs.

Not as strong as resin Chiavari chairs

This is due to the fact they don’t have a traditional steel core like our resin Chiavari chairs have. They also are made of a different kind of material – polycarbonate which gives the chair its clear look.

Chair has bubbles in it

While having bubbles in the chair doesn’t cause problems structurally, some consumers don’t favour the look of bubbles in the chair. We have had a few party rental customers indicate that some of the more selective bridal customer’s would rather go with a solid chair colour than the clear because the bubbles bug them. Again not a huge problem, but something to be aware of. Not everyone will like the chair, but the same can be said against a solid colour Chiavari.

Some clear chiavari chairs have a flat seat and squared off rails

Clear Chiavari Chair Squared Off Rail

Depending on the supplier, clear Chiavari chairs can have a flat seat and squared off rails instead of circular rails and a more traditional looking Chiavari seat. Brides that have grown up coveting Chiavari chairs tend to not like this style of Chiavari as it doesn’t have a true Chiavari chair design.

How strong are heavy duty folding chairs?
Heavy Duty Folding Chair

Heavy duty folding chairs are worth their weight in gold for churches, community centres and schools. They’re comfortable, durable, and stackable when folded and light enough that all age ranges can help with set up and tear down. Normally when an organization or individual is looking to purchase these chairs, their questions often include “how much weight can extra heavy duty folding chairs handle?”

The heavy duty folding chair has been tested in drop test fashion from 6 inches above the chair. It passed a 275lb drop test, higher than the majority of plastic folding chairs on the market. But we wondered if there was another way to test its strength. We have been stress testing our products over the past few years utilizing bags of salt. We just recently completed the Heavy Duty Folding Chair stress test and determined this superstar chair is the definition of a heavy duty chair. Check out the video for yourself below!
